The
Unglamorous Side of India
Birds
eye view of a typical village. The temple with its huge gopurams
tower to the right, out of sight of this photo, but this is an unglamorous
look of what most of India looks like. The asphalt streets are lined
with dirt walkways lined with shops, wires, brick, stone, trash,
gutters, and foot traffic. Do you see a cow? Maybe even a monkey,
ready to snatch away your bag of bananas? The yellow dogs and goats,
a few pigs? The weather you can't see, the heat and the humidity,
not oppressive now in the "cool" season, where during the day you
still seek shade, but night at least, is comfortable.
